There are 3 main battles in The Persian Wars. First is Battle of Marathon. Second is Battle of Thermopylae. And the third battle is the most important one for Greeks. The third battle is The Battle of Salamis. In that war, sea battle in which Greeks sin ⅓ of Persian fleet. And Greeks won this battle. This war made Athens wealthy and powerful. -

Golden Age of Athens
Athens became very wealthy and powerful as the leader of the Delian league after the Persian Wars. There are three types of Greek Columns. Doric, Ionic and Corinthian. Doric style columns are the most plain and basic. Ionic style columns have spiral Scale on the capitals. Corinthian style columns are the most ornate a nd fancy. These columns typically have the acanthus leaf on the capital. -

Sea battle in which Greece sink 1/3 of Persian fleet. Then Greece won this last battle. -

Because of Athens became so powerful as the leader of the Delian. It built a powerful navy and trading empire. Then some of the city-states want to leave the Delian. So Athens punished them. After that, Sparta creates the Peloponnesian League to counter the Delian League. -

Athens creates a powerful navy
Greece is liberated from the threat of the Persians! Athens becomes very wealthy and powerful. Then Athens builds a powerful navy with these funds. Athens also bullies other city-states into being part of the league, even if they did not want to be. If a city-state rebelled, they would take the inhabitants as slaves. Athens has a large empire: colonies along the Black Sea, Turkey and islands in the Mediterranean. -

Alexander the Great become King And ruled
Phillip the II of Macedonia died at his daughter’s wedding, making Alexander the Great King at age 20. He was tutored by the philosopher, Aristole and had gone on many military ventures with his father. Alexander conquered Greece and the Persian Wars. Alexander turned back after reaching India, and then shortly died of malaria at age 33. His empire was split up between his generals.
