My great grandma was born -
1932
Thirty eight people die in coal mine explosion Boissevain, Virginia, USA. Only 20 bodies were found after the blast, but the rest could not be found. 50 men were on duty that night, a dozen escaped and 38 did not. -
1933
President Franklin D. Roosevelt is inaugurated for the first time. His speech with its hallmark phrase, "We have nothing to fear, but fear itself" begins to rally the public and Congress to deal with great depression issues. His subsequent Fireside Chats, that began eight days later, would continue his addresses with the American public. -

Japanese attack on pearl harbor. Over 2,400 Americans died. 350 air crafts were damaged and 8 battle ships belonging to the us were sunken or damaged. -

D-Day: D day was when aly troops went and invaided nazi Germany and on coast of Normandy, France. -
