The assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand was the event that encouraged Austria-Hungary to declare war on Serbia. Serbia was allied with Russia, France, United States, Italy, British colonies, and more. Austria-Hungary was teamed with the Ottoman Empire and Germany. Many of these countries declared war on eachother and caused heartache and loss for many. -

Terrorist attack on United States
The terrorist attacks of September 11th was one of the biggest tragedies in the history of the United States. Several planes were hijacked and flown into the World Trade Center and Pentagon. One flight that was hijacked to be flown into The White House was overtaken by passangers and crashed in a field. This event was the spark of the war on terror that we are still fighting against until today. It has also increased security at airports that makes air travel a hassel for commuters. -
