Romalda enters first grade at her local school. She had started in first grade because Mexican kindergartens are a built as separate buildings and that simply wasn't an option at the time though her parents felt she was ready and enrolled her a year earlier than everyone else. -

The first to surrender were the Axis Powers and then the surrender of Germany was accepted one week after Hitler's suicide.Although this meaning the end of World War ll in Europe war on the East side of the world continues. A few months later after the two atomic bombs are dropped, Japan surrenders, the Emperor even made a personal radio address to the surrender. It isn't until the surrender of Japan, that the war was finally over.

Tokyo Rose the female famous for her participation in Japanese war broadcast, is sentenced to ten years in prison. She is found guilty by the charge that states, ''That on a day during October, 1944, the exact date being to the Grand Jurors unknown, said defendant, at Tokyo, Japan, in a broadcasting studio of The Broadcasting Corporation of Japan, did speak into a microphone concerning the loss of ships.''

The last ever cigarette advertisements take place on December 31, 1970. Nixon signs an act banning cigarette advertisements on televisions and radio known as the Public Health Cigarette Smoking Act. This was especially surprising since smoking was so openly done in the mid-1900s, it was just a normal part of their life. Although this ban didn't stop characters on shows to stop smoking.
