  • Early Childhood

    Naima (age 5) was being bullied because she was good better in math but knew nothing about reading Quran like her age mates making her feel guilty for doing something she likes.
    In Erikson's third stage initiative vs. guilt, it occurs during the preschool years. Children begin to assert their power and control over the world.
  • Teenager

    March 25, 2008
    Naima (age 13) joined high school and had to choose a sport that she had to join. Growing up as a tomboy and going to all girl school was difficult since she is expected to act and behaves like all girls in school. She is confused on how to act.
    Erikson fifth stage identity vs. confusion. During this stage, adolescents explore their independence and develop a sense of self.
  • Adulthood

    December 2, 2021
    Naima (age 21)
    She just graduated from college and she is getting married in three days to a man who her parents pick for her. She does not love him but wants to make her parents happy. She thinks she will learn to love him in time.
    Erikson sixth stage intimacy vs. isolation major conflict centers on forming intimate, loving relationships with other people.
  • Maturity

    July 7, 2065
    Naima (age 70)
    She has been divorced twice and now she is single and lonely at this age. She realized that she has never been herself or even found love all her life. She always had to be someone else and now she looks back and wished if she had been herself her life would be different now.
    Erikson eighth stage ego integrity vs. despair accepting oneself and coming to terms with the death.
