The Supreme Court ruled that every school had to offer equal educational opportunities. -

An African American applied to the law school at the University of Texas, which did nit accept black students. The school chose to create a different law school for black students. -
Protest Outside the Whitehouse
A group of civil rights activits protested outside the Whitehouse. Their signs told Truman to "Speak, Speak, Mr. President." -
Committee on Civil Rights
President Truman reponded to the presure from the protest outsie the Whitehouse. He made a committee called the Committee on Civil Rights. They studied racial discrimination and suggest federal solutions to the problem. -
End of Segregation
Truman ended segregation in the military. -

The Supreme Coart ruled in the Brown Case that segregation in public schools is illegal. -
