Captain Cooks Discovery
On the 20 of april Captain Cook makes the first European sitighting of the eastern cost of Australia, on the 29 of April he enters Botany Bay. -
Finding Australia
After an encounter with local people Cook wrote in his jurnal the aboriganls just wanted us to be gone.He charts the eastern coast all the way to the north tip of Cape York, claims it all for England and calls it New South Wales. -
Stop the First Fleet Made
they stoped in the Canary Islands, Rio De Janerio and Cape Town. -
First Fleet Departed
The First Fleet departed Portsmouth in England in 1787. -
First Fleet Arrival
Captain Arthur Pillip and thhe First Fleet arrived at Botany Bay beetween the 18 and 20 of January 1788. -
Moved to Port Jackson
Botany Bay was unsuitable for settlemnt so they moved to Port Jackson on the 26 of January 1788. -
Second Fleet
The second fleet arrived in Australia. It was called the death fleet. -

Free Settlers start to arrive in Australia 1793. -
The First British Settlement
The first british settlement at Risdon 1803 Lieutenant John Bowen landed with about 50 setterles, crew, soldiers and convicts. -
Settlement at Hobart
Lieutenant David Collins established a settlement at Hobart in Februry 1804. -
Abbandoned Site
The site was abbandoned in 1804. -
New South Wales Parliment
In 1823 the British goverment opened a New South Wales Parliment. -
Van Diemen's Land
Van Diemen's Land was established in it;s own right in 1825. -
Western Australia
Western Australia was established in 1827. -
Transportation Ends
The end of transportation to mainland,Australia, by wich time some 150,000 convicts have been sent to the colonies. All convicts are now to be sent to Van Diemen's Island. -

Transportation to Van Diemen's land is put on hold for two years, as too many convicts flooding into the colony, and the system is at breaking point. -
Victoria
In 1851 Vctoria was seperated from New South Wales. -

Queensland was seperated from New South Wales. -

Queensland becoming the only Australian colony to begin life with it's own parliment instead of first spending time as a crown colony. -

The New South Wales goverment opened up the selection of Crown land.
