Timeline of New Government

  • United States Government shuts down.

    The US Congress becomes completely dysfunctional, unable to pass a budget or other spending bill to keep the government open.

  • Massive Strikes in Washington D.C. by Federal Workers.

    The government shutdown continues and federal workers strike for lack of pay and benefits. Military mobilized to contain strikes.

  • Congressional Leaders Resign

    Unable to end the government standoff, and with unpaid military forces refusing to continue to contain strikes, leaders from Congress​ resign from both parties.

  • Arizona Declares State of Emergency and Secession from United States.

    With no functioning federal government, the Governor activates the National Guard with a promised pay their salaries with state funds and declares Arizona to be a separate country.

  • Constitutional Convention Called.

    The Arizona Constitution is not sufficient to serve as a Constitution for the new country of Arizona, so a constitutional convention is called. Former Republican Senators, John McCain and Jeff Flake, together with Democrat Kyrsten Sinema chair the new convention, which adopts many of the principals of the US Constitution.

  • Arizona Becomes a New Nation

    Since the US Congress has ceased to function and President Trump is ignored by the military, there is no opposition to the creation of the new country of Arizona.
