13th Amendment
The 13th amendment was the beginning, of the end of slavery in the U.S after the Civil War with the Confederate South. This was passed by congress to abolish slavery in the United States. This was the start of people rights. -
Tenure Office Act of 1867
This was a law that was set in place to basically not allow the President to remove any Civil officers without Senatorial consent. This showed how Governement was still developing itself and was unorganzied. This was in Post civil war America. -
Big Stick ideology
The Big stick theory showed how the President Rossevelt expressed power internationally to regulate monopolies and demand trade unions. Rooselvelt wanted to gain the trust of the people that they lost because of a broken/unstable government. This was a step forward in the image of the government in the U.S, also on a international scale. He shows this in international interventions such as the Panama Canal, and Columbia. -
NAACP
This Group that was formed to speak up against lynching and mistreatment of blacks. It was founded in Springfield, Illinois and later set up offices throughout the U.S. This group voiced the 13th, 14th and 15th ammendment which was the beggining of the end of slavery, equal right to blacks. This movement was the begining of oppurtunities to blacks and all people. -
19th Amendment
This ammendment allowed women the right to vote. The progression of allowing different races, and now women show a change on how people's right evolved slowly in the U.S. -
Teapot Dome Scandal
President Harding surrounded himself with friends that were in positions of authority. His Secretary of Interior Fall, leased naval reserves to oil companies without bidding, which again made the public mistrust the government once again. Instead of progressing, this unfortunatly set Rossevelts efforts back. This was named Teapot becausse of the rock that looked lieka teapot in Casper, Wyoming.
