Climax
Casiopea makes it to Xilbalba a learns how to control the roads to find her destination. She runs into the man-eating bat kamazotz who she evades with the help of talking snakes. She happens upon the pool she saw and decides that she must sacrifice herself to save hum-kame. -
Exposition
Casiopea lives on the island of Uukumil where she lives with her grandfather Carilio and her cousin Martin who live to make her life a living hell. Casiopea dreams of one day being free from her island locked in time to escape to the rest of the currently flourishing world. -
Incident
Casiopea finds and opens a small box of bones. When interacting with one of the bones a shard imbedded itself into her hand summoning the god of death Hun-kame. Hun-kame and Casiopea team up to quest for the missing body parts that. Hun-kame needs in order to stop his brother Vucub-kame. Who is attempting to take control of the power within Xibabla, their home. -
Travels and rising action
The pair travel to Merida where they discover the location of the weather god Mamlab who they must obtain Hun-kames’ ear from. Once the ear was obtained the pair learn that they must travel to Mexico City for the next body part. -
Build up
While Casiopea and Hun-kame are in Merida. Vucub-kame travels to Uukumil to enlist the help of cousin Martin who is given a tool to summon Vucub-kame at any time. Martins task is to find Casiopea and stop her alliance with Hun-kame. -
More travels and rising action
In Mexico City the pair learn the location of Xtabay, a witch that has Hun-kames’ index finger. Soon they meet Martin who pleads with Casiopea to return home to save their family but is refused. The duo soon learn that Xtabay was a means of slowing the progress of them and to give Vucub more time to catch up -
Nearing climax
In El paso, Casiopea gives blood to a witch in order for the pair to see their next destination. She receives a dream of herself bleeding out under a tree in Xibalba. In a hotel they are attacked by a sorcerer who they defeat. As Hun-kame becomes more mortal he falls for Casiopea and begs for them to run away together but she refuses wanting to do the right thing. -
Falling action and resolution.
Casiopeas sacrfice saves Hun-kame and restores his full power. Hun-kame decides to not kill Vucub-kame and revives Casiopea. She is then allowed to be free and live her life the way she had forever dreamed about.
