    The War provided the British with major gains of land and was ended by the Treaty of Paris. This war was believed to lead to the American revolution because of how destroyed they left the lands.They also had problems when the British refused to pay for the war expenses.

    This treaty ended the French and Indian war or could be called the 7 years wars. The treaty stated that France gave up all of their land to the British, which ended all threats to the British colonies.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    The Proclamation of 1763 was issued by King George the 3rd, it closed down colonial expansion westward beyond Appalachia, It created a boundary known as the Proclamation line separating the British colonies on the Atlantic coast from the American indian lands
  • Stamp Act

    The Stamp Act was the first internal tax on American colonist by the British government. This act issued mandatory stamps on newspapers and legal and commercial documents to raise money for the British government, The colonies revolted a year later and started a revolutionary movement against he act. Many colonist said the new tax was unfair because the colonist had no say in making tax laws.

    The Boston Massacre was a dealt riot that occured on King St in Boston. It began as a fight between the colonist and a single British soldier but quickly escalated to bloody murder. Tensions between the British and colonists were high at that time due t the taxes put on the colonist which caused the Boston Massacre.

    The Committee of Correspondence were small, private governments organized by the leaders of the colonies on the night before the American Revolution, This was also the first time all of the colonies communicated with one another. The committees opposed against any British policy that the Colonist disagreed with.

    The Boston Tea Party was a political protest by the Sons of Liberty and was caused by the Tea Act. American colonist were frustrated and angry at Britain for putting a tax on a chest of tea. On December 16th 1773 the British imported 342 chests of tea into the harbor. Hours later that day the colonists dumped all the tea into the ocean. This resulted in the Intolerable Acts.

    The Intolerable Acts were punishment laws passed by the British government because of the Boston Tea Party, The laws were mean to punish the colonist and the results were the British taxed the colonies for more things. The acts took away self government and rights that Massachusetts have had since it was founded. This was a key outbreak of the American Revolution.

    Lexington and Concord were battles that started the American Revolution. Tensions between the 13 American colonies and the British government were very high for many years. On the night of April 18th 1775 many of the British army marched from Boston to nearby Concord, This caused Paul Revere and other horseback riders that sounded an alarm, The colonies started off the fighting and soon the British left under intense fire.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill was a bloody battle that took place during the siege of Boston in the early stages of the American Revolution. The colonist learned that the British were planning to take over the hills around Boston in order to gain tactical advantage. The battle was known for the hilly landscape that it was fought on. Many colonist reacted to the battle with confidence even though they lost. The battle led the British to adopt more cautious ways of fighting for future battles.

    The Publication of Common Sense was a novel written by Thomas Paine. It was an instant best seller because of the brilliant arguments that Paine explained well. He argued for two main points, independence from England and the creation of a democratic republic. The reason Piane wrote this was because of the British ruling the colonies and he believed the colonies should have an independent democratic government.

    The Declaration of Independence was a very important document for the colonists freedom. Thomas Jefferson wrote the majority of the declaration. It summarized what the colonist had in mind for seeking independence. One of the main points the document hit was out 1st amendment for the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness and that all men are created equal.

    The battle of Trenton was a small but intense battle during the american revolution. Washington defeated garrison of hessian mercenary before withdrawing from the battle. This battle was one of the turning points in the war. The conditions during the battle was very harsh conditions because it was fought during the winter
  • Valley Forge

    Valley Forge was a major campground for the colonist. It was a campground that lasted 6 months. Valley Forge was the major turning point in the war because the colonist won and it was a great campground. Many soldiers died during the war up to 2000. It was also severely cold because it was fought in the middle of winter.
  • Saratoga

    The battles of Saratoga were battles that sold the win for the colonist in the american revolution. It concluded two significant battles that were 8 days. This battle was still very important but not many deaths. It took place in new york. The british army was defeated and they tried to recover but didn't have the resources to create a new one, so thi swar concluded that the americans had won.
  • Cowpens

    The battle of cowpens was one of the final battles of the american revolution. This was the final battle that made the decision that the americans had won the war. The americans won over the British army after they tried to recover from the recent loss. This battle did not last long at all before the british surrendered. It only lasted one hour. It was called this because of the thing around the battlegrounds.
  • Yorktown

    The battle of yorktown ended the american revolution. This battle took place in virginia.The British surrendered to this battle because of the lack of financial resources to keep them in the battle and to raise a new army to fight. little people were killed in this battle because the British were losing troops fast and surrendered quickly.
  • Treaty of Paris

    This document officially ended the american revolution telling all countries to sign including King George ll to give freedom to the colonist. It said that all lands east of the mississippi were under american rule now and Britain had no longer say so in what laws the colonist wanted. It also helped the United States double in size later on.
