Ivan Allen becomes mayor
Ivan Allen was elected as Mayor of Atlanta in 1961. -
Mayor Allen Begins Desegregating
He ordered the Desegregation of the city law and slowly passing anti segregation laws on other things. -
Sports Teams Move to Atlanta
In 1964 Mayor Allen Convinced many Sports Teams to move their locations to Atlanta. -
Martin Luther King Jr. Assignation
He was murdered at a hotel in Memphis. He was rushed to a hospital but still died.
