In the afternoon, Lee violently attacked the Unions left side and fighting began. This fighting took place at Devil's Den, Little Round Top, Wheatfield, Peach Orchard, and Cemetery Ridge.
12,000 Confederates attacked but the attack was repeled by a Union rifle and artillery fire, this was a big loss for Confederates.
Lee and his army retreated back to Virginia.
51,000 soldiers were killed, wounded, or captured during the 3-day battle.
