Gerald Rudolph Ford, Jr. was the 38th President of the United States from 1974 to 1977. He went to live with his mother’s parents in Michigan when he was little. His mother divorced, but married again Ford said, “My stepfather was a magnificent person and my mother equally wonderful.” He became president in 1974.
