There are many events throughout the interwar period which led to German ultranationalism. Those that are shown are considered to have the most impact in rise of ultranationalism. -
Signing of theTreaty of Versailles
The Treaty of Versailles was devastating for Germany. Once they agreed to sign they were given litle to no military power, as well they now owed 33$ billion in war reparations. This was a great blow to German nationalism and weakened the country immensly. -

France invades the Ruhr Valley
This revived German nationalism and increased hostilities with France.This caused the Germans to rise and look for a way to get out of the impacts cause by the war. The treaty which was intended to keep Germany weak was no longer working. -
Stock Market Crash
After the Stock Market crashed exteme right-wing parties arose in Germany.This led the Germans to abandon mainstream political parties and look for more radical alternatives. This is what created the circumstances necessary for Hitler to gain power and eventually control of Germany. -

Japan Invades Manchuria
In 1931 Japan invaded Manchuria and was given no punishment by the League of Nations. This encouraged Hitler's expansionsist ideas and led to their invading of Czechoslovakia as well as other countries in later years. -

Germany withdraws from the League of Nations
Hitler ordered that Germany withdraw from the League of Nations, his excuse was that Germany was already disarmed and other countries were refusing to disarm. -
Hitler become Chancellor of Germany
The president of Germany appointed Hitler chancellor of Germany in order to keep the Nazi party in check. Within a short time Hitler was able to take control of Germany from the German President. The Nazi party now had complete control over Germany. -

Germany is Appeased
In order to stop the immenent war, Britian and France agreed to give the Sudetenland to the Germans. They did this to stop the Nazi's from invading Czechoslovakia and stop the conflict thatwould start. The policy of appeasement did not stop the Germans bud led them to take the rest of Czechoslovakia in later years. -
Kristallnacht
Nazis burned Jewish homes and synagogues, assaulted many Jewish people and 96 people were killed. It became known as the "night of broken glass". Kristallnacht was an important turning point in the persucution of the Jewish people, which in the end led to an attempt to exterminate all European Jewish people.
