Germany invaded Austria unopposed and declared "Anschluss" (union)

Annexation of Sudetenland

Sep 30, 1938

Hitler met with British prime minister Neville Chamberlain and French premier Édouard Daladier and claimed that the annexation of Sudetenland was his "last territorial demand". Believing him, the Chamberlain and Daladier agreed.

Annexation of Czechoslovakia

Mar 15, 1939

Hitler marched into the rest of Czechoslovakia.

German/USSR Nonaggression Pact

Aug 23, 1939

Germany and the USSR signed two pacts: One, to never attack each other and (secretly) two, to split Poland amongst the two nations.

Blitzkrieg Bop

Sep 1, 1939

Germany invaded Poland with their fast and powerful tanks. Two days later, Poland suceeded to Germany. This marked the beginning of World War II.

Hitler invaded Denmark and Norway to "protect freedom and independece".
