    A day later the "union" with Austria was complete. The United states or any of the rest of the world did nothing to interfere.Hitler wanted to annex Czechoslovakia next, in order to provide more living space for Germany as well as to control its important natural resources.

    France and Great Britain promised to protect Czechoslovakia. Hitler decided to invite French Premier, Edouard Daladier, and British Prime Minister, Neville Chamberlain to meet in Munich. With eagerness to war, Hitler convinced both men to hand over Czechoslovakia to Germany. They signed the Munich Agreement, which turned the Sudetenland over to Germany without war or shots being fired.
