French premier Edouard Daladier and British prime minister Neville Chamberlain signed the Munich Agreement which gave Sudetenland, a German speaking part of Czechoslavakia, to Germany after many lies in which Nazi press made it seem like the Czechs were abusing the Sudeten Germans.
