Hitler met secretly with his top military advisors and declared to grow and prosper Germany. He planned to absorb Austria and Czechoslovakia into the Third Reich. -
Austria is Taken
German troops march into Austria and take it over without violence. They declared that their union with Germany was complete. -
Munich Agreement
The Sudetenland in the Czech mountains, their biggest defense, was turned over to Germany through the Munich Agreement. -
Czechoslovakia's Demise
Hitler sends his troops back into Czechoslovakia and takes over the rest of the country, sealing the countriy's fate. Hitler gloated, "Czechoslovakia has ceased to exist." -
Russia and Germany Become Friends
Russia and Germany signed a nonaggression pact making sure that the two powers would never attack eachother. They also secretly planned to to divide Poland, avoiding a "Two-front" war. -
Poland Invasion
Germany invades Poland with Blitskreig tactics and wipes out cities, bases, railroads, and airfields -

France and Britain declare war on Germany. They were not going to let this happen. -
Germany Expands Again
Hitler launches surprise invasions of Denmark and Norway to build bases on their borders to attack Great Britian. This ended the Phony war, or Sitting war. -
France Surrenders, Italy Joins Germany
Hitler takes over France, capturing many soldiers. France surrenderd and Italy joins Germany's side. -
Hitler Calls off invasion
Hitler calls off invasion of Great Britian because of British RAF fighters taking down too many German bombers. However bombings on both sides continued.
