German troops march into Austria
This was first on Hitler's list and was done to annex the country. The majority of Austria were Germans and they favored a unification with Germany. -
Union Formed
Austria was proclaimed and Germany announced its anschluss with Austria, or union. This was done so that Germany could aquire more living space.
Although the United States as well as the rest of the world knew what was going on, they still did nothing to stop Germany. -
Munich Agreement Signed
Many powerful officials traveled to Munich, and gave in to Hitler's demands. This allowed Nazi Germany's annexation along the borders of Czechoslovakia and turned Sudentenland over to Germany. The Munich agreement was signed by France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Germany. -
Germany invades whats left of Czechoslovakia
After the agreement was signed, Germany was entitled to mos of Czechoslovakia's resources, leaving them vulnerable. When meeting with the Czech President, Hilter found the perfect oppertunity to attacked and take over what was left of Czechoslovakia. Many called the Munich plan a "mere negotiating ploy by the Hitler" so he could take over all of Czech -
Germany and Russia form alliance
Germany and Russia made a secret alliance and agreed to not go to war with each other. They also promised to invade Poland and split it between them. -

Britian and France declare war in response to Germany invading Poland.

Hitler luanched suprise invasion on Denmark and Norway
The King of Denmark did not think his army could fight of Germany so he surrendered immediatey.
After Norway refused to surrender Germany responded with a parachute invasion. -
Hitler handed French officers his terms of surrender

Germany was allowed to occupy the Northern half of France.
France was required to pay for the cost of the German invasion. -
Black Thursday
First attacks made on Northern England by Germany.
Attacks were mainly targeted at Royal Air Force bases. -
Turning point of the Battle of Britain
176 German planes were shot down by the Royal Airforce.
It was the largest and most concentrated attack on London.
The battle lasted until dusk.
