George Washington is Born
In Westmoreland County, Virginia Jane Butler (George Washington's Mom) and Augustine Washington (George Washington's Dad) welcomed to the world their new baby boy George Washington. George was Jane and Augustine first child. Geroge all together had 3 siblings and 3 step siblings (George's mom died and George's dad remarried). George's step mom's name was Mary Ball.

Washington Starts the French and Indian War
In the early 1750's Washington started to show signs of natural leadership. Meanwhile in 1953 the French started to claim land already claimed by Virgina. George Washington wasn't going to allow this, and soon he got a order from Gov. Robert Dinwiddie to attack the french who were in their territory. Washington gets Married
January 6, George Washington marries Martha Dandridge Custis, widow of Daniel Parke Custis. Washington assumes parental care of her children, Martha ("Patsy") and John Parke ("Jacky"). pbs.org -
Commander and Chief
At the Second Continental Congress in Philadelphia on June 15th, Washington was unanimously elected Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. This time he would be fighting against the British, not with them. mountvernon.org -
Turing point in the War

Treaty of Paris

First USA president
On April 30 1789, Gerorge Washington was unanimously elected the first United States president. Geroge Washington would serve two terms in office. His vice president was John Adams and John Adams would soon be the second USA president.

Whiskey Rebellion
While Washington was in office, there was a tax on Whiskey. In the western part of the United States they were revolitng against this tax. So Washington and 13,000 milita went to Pennsylvania to stop the revoltion. This was the first time the miltia act was enforced.

Fair Well Address
This was one of Washington's most greast speeches of all time. Washington devoted much of the address to domestic issues of the time, warning against the rise of political parties and sectionalism as a threat to national unity. He also annouced his retirement and that he wouldn't be running for a 3rd term for office.

He Dies
One of the best American heros of all time died on this of pneumonia. He died at the age of 67 and died at Mount Vernon, Virgina. His death was really sad but Gerorge Washington legacy will always be remembered as one of greastest leaders of this nation.
