The first cinema
On the 28th of Decemeber 1985 the first film screening happened. The films were only very short, about 20 - 30 seconds long. This happened at the Grand Cafe in Paris.

First Film
On the 10th of March 1910 the first filmes ever was filmed. At this time the genre was very simple and not over complicated for exmaple there was no cross breeds, it was just simple horrow, romance, comedy etc. This makes it a lot differnet to what they are like now. -
Charlie Chaplin
Charlie was an actor, director, producer and a writer. He is probably the most famous silent film actor. He did over 90 silent films and had worldwide fame which lead to consideration of one of the greatest geniuses of cinema history. -
Metro Goldwyn Mayer
Metro Goldwyn Mayer was created in 1918 after having previous names and merging of differnt companies. -
Warner Bros
In 1923, Warner Bros was created by Polish Brothers (Jack, Harry, Albery and Sam). In 1925 mergerd with another company to make Warner Bros - First National Pictures. By 1927 films were being introduced as the 'talkies' -
Film increase
In the early 1920's the film industry really blossemed and became more popular that ever before. Films were being made all over the USA unlike in the early 1900's where they were only being made in Hollywood or near Hollywood. -

In 1916 two companies mergerd and made Famous Players - Lasky Coperation; it spent $1 million on united studios properaty in 1926. In then changed in 1927 to make it Paramount and official names Paramount Pictures in 1935. -
20th Century Fox
It used to be known as Fox Movie news and then B-westerns, it's first was Life's a Shop Window in 1914. It became 20th Century Fox after the merge of 20th Century Pictures Company founded in 1933 and Fox. -
Marilyn Monroe
Marilyn was one of the most famous actress at the time and still very well known today. At the time she was a leading sex symbol and a role model to a lot of young women. Her first two films she was in were; All About Eve and The Asphalt Jungle both in the 1950's.
She was also a photographic model since 1946 before she went into film.
