  • Silent Generation

    Silent Generation
    This was the generation of people born from 1925–1942 notably during the Great Depression and World War II. The label "Silent Generation" was first coined in the November 5, 1951 cover story of Time to refer to the generation coming of age at the time. Characteristics as grave and fatalistic, conventional, possessing confused morals, expecting disappointment but desiring faith, and for women, desiring both a career and a family.
  • Generation X

    Generation X
    The generation born after the Western Post–World War II baby boom. Represents a more apparently heterogeneous generation, openly acknowledging and embracing social diversity in terms of such characteristics as race, class, religion, ethnicity, culture, language, gender identity, and sexual orientation.

  • Generation Y

    Generation Y
    Also known as Millennials. They are the demographics following Generation X. There is no set time of when they think these people were around but they say around 1980's to early 2000's. Twenge attributes confidence and tolerance to the Millennials but also a sense of entitlement and narcissism based on personality surveys that showed increasing narcissism among Millennials compared to preceding generations when they were teens and in their twenties.
