  • First Personal Computer

    Hewlett-Packard sold the first personal computer in 1968. They called it a desktop calculator so people would buy it. It has enhanced our lives because over the years, it created the idea of a smaller personal computer and form of technology.
  • VCR

    In 1970, Sony created the first commercial VCR. They allowed customers to play tapes and rewatch things. Since then, people typically use this form of technology anymore but the ideas are still relevant in today's world.
  • Email

    In 1971 Ray Tomlinson invented email by creating a networked system to connect and send messages. Emails allowed you to messages to other computers or emails. Most people use their email everyday so without this many people wouldn't be able to communicate.
  • First at Home Video Game system

    First at Home Video Game system
    The odyssey was the first at home game system for Generation X. It was manufactured by Magnavox in 1972. It was a very basic design but it allowed consumers to change and play different games.
  • First Portable Telephone

    Motorola created the first hand-held telephone in 1973. This allowed people to leave their homes but still have a way to connect with the people in their lives. Portable telephone turned into cell phones and eventually turned into the phones we have today.
