    in 2002 she and her husband Nick traveled around the world. She has been in over 64 countries, and she writes about these countries in her books.

    Forman went most of her adult life being a journalist for popular magazines such as Seventeen and Cosmopolitan. It was these years in journalism that most of her ideas for her novels came from. She enjoyed writing, but couldn't yet expand. This career gave her lots of background and experience for her YA novels.

    She published "Sisters in Sanity" based on an article she wrote for Seventeen magazine.
  • Article Influences her to write "I Was Here."

    Gayle wrote an article for Cosmopolitan magazine in 2008 about 3 women who had commited suicide, and one of the women, Suzy, had caught her attention and she began writing.
