TX-0 games
During 1959-1961, a collection of games were created on the TX-0 such as the Mouse in Maze, HAX and Tic-Tac-Toe etc.. -
DEC PDP-1
In 1961, the first game on the DEC PDP-1 was created -- Spacewar! The game lets 2 players play against each other by controlling 2 spaceships which are capable of shooting missiles. This game was credited as the first influential computer game. -
Early arcade games
In September 1971, the Galaxy Game was installed at a student union at Stanford University. Based on Spacewar!, this was the first video game which neede coins to operate. -
Pong
In 1972, a new coin-operated arcade game was created -- Pong. Pong was mainly a game base on tabletennis. -
Atari 2600 (VCS)
It made gaming more easy for people because instead of having one or more games built into it, it had game cartridges which you could plug in and out. -
Nintendo entertainment system
The NES has game cartridges which players can plug in and unplug. -
Sega genesis
The superior version of the NES. Also has game cartridges. -
Sony playstation
Developed by Sony, it uses game discs. The quality of graphics have also slightly improved. -
Play station 2 (SCPH-5000x)
Improved graphics and more games, the 2nd game console of the play station series. -
Nintendo game cube
Made by Nintendo, there are several different colours to the Game cube. The disc is also read from the outer-most edge going inward, the opposite of a standard DVD. This move was mainly intended to prevent piracy of GCN titles, but like most anti-piracy technology, it was eventually cracked. -

Play Station 3
The 3rd console in the play station series. The first version of the PS3 could play both PS2 and PS3 games. -
