The magnavox odyssey was the first offical home console. it had no sound and bad graphics, but still sold lots around the world due to the fact that the brown box was becoming outdated. -
The Atari pong
the pong unit was a small home system that played the popular arcade game pong at home. Its was so sucseesful because the arcade game pong was played by many and people didnt want the hassle of going to the arcade. -
The Coleco Telstar Arcade
The Coleco Telstar Arcade was the main wheel gaming console. it was able to play pong and a very earliy version of racing. It also had a gun game with all the controlers built in. -
The Vectrex
One of the first 8 bit console it used vector graphics and had a large monitor to use the 8 bit system. it sold for $199. Its was developed from the same consept as a army radar but made smaller and less complex. -
The Sega Master System
This console used a gun to play its games such as a simple space shooter and hunting game it was superior to the nes in tech and sold more as well. But didnt have lots of games for it . It was also Segas first try at a game console. -
The NEC Turbo Grafx 16
This consloe was a leading console for 16 bit graphics and displayed 256 coulors. it also had a full sound track and voice overs. -
The Super Nintendo Entertainment System
The super Nintendo Entertainmen system or SNES saw one of the first 32 bit gamese being used. It out sold all 16 bit consoles and started a downfall in sales for them too. -
The Playstation
playstation was sonys idea. after nintendo asked sony to make a cd rom they asked for 25% of all profit when nintendo turned them down the made the playstation 1 one of the best consoles of all time. -
The Nintendo 64
After the masive sales of the playstation one intendo tryed to get i on the money with the the nintendo ultra 64. But it was a rubbish i didnt make even come close to the playstation. -
The PlayStation 2
The playstation two was the follow up to the playstataion. it is the still the biggest sellnig unit that sold millions of units around the world.This console got millions of people of all ages trules hooked with playing video games, but is thats a good thing or not thought? -
The Nintendo GameCube
After the sucsess of the playstation 2 Nintendo need a money making console that could match the playstation 2. They decided too use optical discs as a primary way of saving in game progress. -
The Xbox
The xbox was the first console by a company called microsoft. Its was one of the first sixth genartion consoles. A year later in 2002 the first major online link was relesed by microsoft being able to link players around the world. -
The XaviXPort gaming console
The XaviXPort was one of the first consoles to use motion sensing tech to play games. It wirless controlers shaped like sports equipment. Such as a baseball bat, tennis racket and golf. it sold for $79.99. -
The Xbox 360
The xbox 360 was the follow up to Microsofts Xbox. Its sold 78.2 units world wide. Its was the first seventh-generation console. Its Xbox live feature was a world wide hit alllowing gamers to download games and demos online instead of instore. -
The playstation 3
The Playstation 3 or PS3 was the first console to have a blu ray disc player inside. Like the Xbox 360 the PS3 had a online capasity called playstation network. It aslo links with the Playstation vita and Playstation portable.
