    Friedrich Engels (28th of November 1820 - 5th of August 1895) Friedrich Engels was born on the 28th of November 1820. He was born in Barmen, Kingdom of Prussia. Barmen was a former industrial metropolis area, later on in 1929 it merged with other towns and then formed Wuppertal. In 1895 on the 5th of August. Friedrich Engels would pass away in London; his death was caused by throat cancer. He died at the age of 74.

    Engels, served in the Prussian Army as a member of the Guards Foot Artillery. He meet Karl Marx after he attended a university and him and Marx met through a group called "The Young Hegelians" a group of people who followed the ideas of German Philosopher Fredrich Hegel. Both Marx and Engels would become the leaders of this group.
    This was the beginning of Engels path of becoming a Social Scientist, he was inspired to do this due to the 19th century struggles of the working class.

    In 1844 (published in 1845), Engels decided to write a study on the conditions of workers in England shortly after the industrial revolution.
    What Engels saw was horrifying and this was the problem in which he wanted to solve. He was appalled by seeing the heavy use of child labor, poor health of workers, and the high death rates. This entire study he performed was to show everyone that there was a problem and it had to be fixed

    One of the most famous things that Engels did. Is help Karl Marx write the Communist Manifesto. Considered one of the most influential political documents in the world. As a Social Scientist Engels believed that capitalism created and maintained a class struggle. Engels believed not having a class structure it would resolve the class struggle, since the business owners would not be in control. Engels and Marx created a Political Science document that has influenced much of the modern day world.

    The exact writings of Das Kapital are done by Karl Marx. But the book needed funds in order to see its publishing and distribution. Engels helped finically support the publishing of the book.
    Engels was a close friend of Marx and there motivation for a resolution is the class struggle and poverty that spread across Europe like wildfire during the industrial revolution. He carefully watched in what he believed people needed him and Marx then looked for resolutions and then created the manifesto

    Engels died in 1895 in London from cancer. Engels and Marx both together created one of the most influential political systems in history. They believed from observing problems during the industrial revolution that the class struggle and poverty were caused by Capitalism and the business owners. To fix that they wanted to see a classless free society. Engels and Marx work would lay the foundation that would cause a large portion of the world to be socialist and communist in the 20th century.
