Storming of Bastille
The storming of Bastille was a monumental event for the french in many ways, without this event the entire continent of Europe would be forever changed. The storming of the prison signified the start of the french revolution that would end title waves of enlightened thoughts through out all of Europe and would give rise to many good and many horrific leaders within France. the storming also signified that rising up of the people against the oppression they had been given from the monarchy. -
Meeting of the Estates General
There were many financial problems facing Frances. This fact was very clear when when Louis the 16th called the estates general which had not been summoned in decades.when the estates general met the gap that had formed between the upper class and the lower class was shown by the first two estates voting together against the third. -
The Declaration of the Rights of Men
The declaration of the Rights of Men is a french document that states all the liberties the the french people wanted. Many of the liberties they wanted were the same as the liberties listed in the bill of right. this overlap is due to them being based on the same enlightenment thinkers. -
Establishment of the New Constitution
After the revolution the french people were looking to form their own government based on the u.s. democracy, one part of that posses is making a good constitution. This constitution was the first attempt from the french to establish a government. -
Execution of the King and Queen/Beginning of the Reign of Terror
The rain of terror witch was a year of social, political, economical unrest within the year the radical group that took over caused this unrest by having continues executions of anyone who didn't agree with their values. -
Napoleon Overthrows the Directory
Napoleon was a french solider who quickly rose to the rank of general. Napoleon's reputation allow him to gain the trust of the people. Napoleon's social power allowed him to overthrow the directory and rise to power. -
Napoleon Builds an Empire
Napoleon had a thirst for power and wanted control of all of Europe. When he got it he became the first emperor of France. -
Napoleon Invades Russia
Napoleon invading Russia was the start of the end of his empire. Because of the unsuccessful invasion napoleon's fighting force was in shambles, which made it easy for the countries he had taken over to regain their freedom. -
The Congress of Vienna Meets
After the fall of napoleon the ambassadors of all the European meet together as the congress of Vienna. This congress was formed to create a balance between all of the countries so no one was more powerful than another. -
Napoleon Defeated at Waterloo
Napoleon managed to escape his imprisonment return to France. He used the last of his influence on the people to fight for his power. the battle ended with a lose for napoleon and him being sent to an island even further away were he would die.
