The Estates General held the first, second, and third estates all separated by wealth. It was called to determine on whether everyone should pay tax or the third estate only pays tax. Due to their being three estates and one vote each the first and second estates they voted that only the third estate should pay the tax on property.

The Bastille was stormed on July 14, 1789 by the National Assembly which was formed by the third estate in the Estates General. They stormed the Bastille hoping that it contained weapons to defend themselves from the troops that were coming to Paris which caused the National Assembly to think that they were going to be attacked, but there were no weapons held in the Bastille.

The declaration was adopted by the National Assembly on August 27. It held enlightenment ideals, basic freedoms, and asserted the sovereignty of the people.

The new constitution was a constitutional monarchy but it introduced another assembly called the Legislative assembly. This constitution also led to the formation of the San-culottes or common people who were strong supporters of the revolution.

The reign of terror started due to the formation of the Committee of Public Safety. This group ruled France for nearly a year. This year was a year that held many deaths do to a theory that they were committing treason.

Napoleon came back to France hearing rumors that France is having a revolution. During this time it was being ruled by what was called The Directory. Napoleon used the military to settle down the revolution and take control.

Napoleon made reforms to better the prosperity of France. He also made legal reforms to change laws but they didn't apply to him.

Russia weather was very cold especially during the winters. napoleon invaded Russia with 400,000 men and only came out with 10,000. While he was retreating he was defeated at the Battle of Leipzig.

Napoleon was defeated at Waterloo at an attempt to invade Great Britain and failed and had his final defeated. France exiled him to St. Helena.
