    The Estates General was made up of representitives from each estate. First, second, and third estate representitives met to discuss a new constitution so that everyone was more happy. The king thought it would create peace, but it just caused more turmoil between the estates.

    The bastille was a large building that symbolized "royal authority" for France. It was used as a prison and held seven inmets at the time of it's invasion. It was located in Paris. The partisians invaded it as an act of rebellion.

    The September Massacres is when more than 1200 prisoners were executed within a very short period of time. This was done by 150-300 french prison guards. The exact number of deaths are not known, but all we know is that it was a lot of people. This occurred mostly because royalty was paranoid about a threat to the royal family that was recently made.

    Louis XVI was charged with many things, 33 to be exact. He had two weeks to prepare his defense, and Louis had his defense team write his arguments. There were 721 voters in total. 34 voted for "death with conditions", 2 voted for life in prison, 319 voted for prison until the end of the war, and 361 people voted for death with no other conditions. In the end, Louis XVI was sentenced to death.

    After being accused of combining forces with foreign governments, Louis XVI was convicted and sentenced to death. Louis XVI was executed by guillotine on January 21 1793. After his execution, the revolution continued on, until the people received what was asked.

    While she was imprisoned, she was held under very strong control by the guards, and she tried to escape one time.She was eventually convicted of treason, and sentenced to death by guillotine. Marie Antoinette was executed on October 16th 1793 at 12:30pm.

    The Battle of Fleurus took place on June 26th, 1794. This battle was between the French Republic and the Coalition army. Both sides had roughly 80,000 men, but the French ended up winning. This battle tipped the scale in the French's direction.

    The Treaty of Basel was created on March 3rd, 1795. It was an agreement between France and Spain that returned land to Spain that they had lost during a war. The British were strongly against this agreement, and attacked Spain's shipping. That eventually led to Spain declaring war on Britain.

    The Siege of Mantua occurred during the month of July. This siege ended with many Austrians being forced out of Northern Italy. Napoleon and his army defeated them by beginning the "divide and conquer" method. Baron Josef Alvintzy surrendered to Napoleon on Feb 2 1797. After that, the French's quest to gain Northern Italy was done.

    This treaty "preserved" the French's conquests and affirmed Napoleon's victory against the first coalition. France acquired Venice's Ionian Islands, the Adriatic Sea, and the Ligurian Republics. France gave Austria territory east of the Adige River. It was a greed, however, that Prussia would gain no territory from this.
