    After being locked out of a meeting the third estate met on a tennis court and all made an oath to protest and not separate until the king agreed to a new constitution.

    The 3rd estate storms the Bastille, a prison, and steal gunpowder, many end up dead. This is seen as the start of the French Revolution.

    The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen
    A statement of fundamental political rights adopted by the French National Assembly at the beginning of the revolution. The Rights were Liberty, Property, Safety and Resistance to Oppression.

    A period in France where Maxmillen Robespierre, a Jacobin radical leader, ruled and used revolutionary terror to solidify his control. Anyone suspected of going against the revolution would be executed by the guillotine publicly.

    King Louis was charged with treason and sentenced to death after trying to flee France during the revolution, this was a public event. His wife was executed publicly 9 months later.
  • Napoleon Bonaparte's Coup d'eat

    Napoleon Bonaparte's Coup d'eat
    This coup d'eat known as the Coup of 18–19 Brumaire, overthrew the Directory government in France, making room for Napoleon to take over and later name himself emperor in 1804. Refered to as the event that ended the French Revolution.

    After taking down Napoleon, the European nations met together to put Europe back to the way it once was, redrawing the boundaries to try and ensure a balance of power across Europe.

    The Battle of Waterloo
    As European nations became more and more scared of Napoleon's growing power, they united together to take him down. He was defeated at the Battle of Waterloo and later exiled to prison, ending his reign as leader of France.
