    Estates General Meeting
    The meeting was called for the first time in 175 years because of economic crisis in France. King Louie's initial intention was to try and raise taxes, but instead the meeting sparked revolution.

    When the deputies representing the third estate arrived s the Generals Estate Meeting the realized they were locked out, and so they decided to make the national Assembly as they represented the majority of France's population (97% of the population was from the third estate).

    When the people of the National Assembly were forming, they searched for the nearest large space to meet. What they found was a tennis court and there they made an oath to never stop meeting until the constitution changed.

    The first act of revolution was the storming of Bastille where the people of the third estate tore the Bastille, a prison apart brick by brick, destroying a symbol of the government and its history as well as releasing political prisoners and taking gunpowder .

    Robespierre created a new list of enemies that he wouldn't tell who was on it. Everyone was afraid that they were on it, so they arrested him and executed him before he got a chance to read the list, which ended the Reign of Terror.

    The Napoleonic code was Napoleon's comprehensive system of laws that gave France a uniform set of laws and eliminated many justices but also limited liberty and individual rights.

    With the support of French voters, Napoleon crowned himself emperor of France which signaled that he was more powerful than the Church as the Church is usually the one to crown the emperor.

    When Napoleon began to lose, people began to like him less and less and he was eventually banished to the island of St. Helena where he died.
