  • French & Indian War

    French & Indian War
    France and Britain fought for control of the Ohio River Valley in North America. Great Britain ends up winning, but they go into massive debt. To pay it off, they start to tax the colonists heavily. This creates the first bit of tension between the colonists and the crown.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    During the Seven Years' War, the British Parliament passed the 'Stamp Act' to help pay for the British troops stationed in the colonies. The Stamp Act was passed on March 22nd, 1765. The Stamp Act was a direct tax that the colonial legislatures did not approve. Those opposing/violating the Stamp Act could be prosecuted in the Vice-Admiralty Courts.

    Quartering Act
    The Quartering Act was passed in the same year as the Stamp Act. The Quartering Act was passed to increase the empire's defense costs in America. The Quartering Act was passed on May 15, 1765, and ended on March 24, 1767.
  • Battle of Lexington & Concord

    Battle of Lexington & Concord
    The battle started on April 19, 1775. On April 18, 1775, about 100 British troops marched onto Concord to get an arms cache. During the battle, the British had to retreat from being under intense fire. The colonists won and the war ended in 1783.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill is one of the major battles of the American Revolution War. It started on June 17th, 1775. Most of the fighting occurred near Breed's Hill when the American troops learned the British went to surround the hills.

    The Treaty of Paris was signed by America and the British. Which ended the American Revolution War, securing America’s independence. It was signed on September 3rd, 1783, and ended many wars.
