    End of French and Indian War
    The North American Colonies fought against the French. The war resulted in Britain gaining territory in the American Colonies. The was was very costly which led to Britain implementing taxes.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    The Sugar Act implemented taxes on imports from the Caribbean. The Americans were upset because they didn't want to lose some of their profits.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This act made it so any and all printed material had to have a stamp on it. The stamp costed money which helped Britain gain revenue. Because of this the Sons of Liberty boycotted which eventually which ended in the British Parliament repealing the Stamp Act. The paper workers were frustrated over this act because they believed in no taxation without representation.
  • Declaratory Act

    Declaratory Act
    The Declaratory Act was to show the Colonies that the British could tax them but decided to not, in they repealed the Stamp Act. The Colonies didn't like this because the British were taxing them without giving them representation in the Parliament.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    The Townshend Acts were a series of taxes implemented to administrate the British colonies in America. Americans were mad because they saw this act as an abuse of British power.
  • Tea Act

    Tea Act
    The Tea Act would tax tea coming in from the British East Indian Company. The colonies were very mad because tea was a drink that was important and very popular in America. They were not happy when the British started to tax their favorite drink.
