A decision by the U.S Supreme Court that racial segregation in school is unconstitutional. After that browns were allowed to go school with everyone. Expect over 38,000 teachers lost there jobs. -

14 year boy from Chicago. Accused of whistling at a white women. Ray Bryant and JW Milan linched Emmet and killed him. -

Started after the bus boycott. Martin Luther King was president of the group. Still exists today. -
Little Rock Nine
Was to test the brown vs board of education decision. Nine students were vetted to undergo this test. Schools were closed for a year. -
Student nonviolent coordinating committee
Youth group remained fiercely independent of MLK and SCLC. Would work together. Both groups were together in the March Selma. -
Greensboro NC
4 students sat down at lunch table. They were refused service. Later protested with others. -
Freedom Riders
2 weeks bus trip to the south to deliberate Jim Crow laws. They were organized by CORE. The bus were burned by the kkk and riders were beaten. -
March on Washington
March for jobs and freedom. Over 250,000 people were in attendance at Lincoln memorial. MLK gave his famous “ I have a dream” speech. -
