    His real name is Farrokh Bulsara. He was born in Tanzania, but spent most of his childhood in India. At the age of seven, he started to have piano lessons, and a year later, his parents sent him to a school in the UK, where he joined the school band.

    Farrokh grew up and changed his name to Freddie Mercury. He "joined" an English band named Smile, but the vocalist, Tim Staffell, left the band. Now the band members were Freddie (vocalist and pianist), Roger Taylor (drummer) and Brian May (guitarist). Freddie took the role of lider and changed the name of the band to "Queen". Later, John Deacon joined the band as the bassist.
