Francis Marion hired on a ship going to the West Indies. Boat sank and crew escaped on life boat.

Recruited by Captain John Postell to serve in the French and Indian War.

Promoted to lieutenant and destroys many Native American tribes.

Captain of the 2nd South Carolina Regiment

Francis Marion has a new job of Captaining the 2n South Carolina Regiment.

Battle of Camden

Aug 16, 1780

Marion joins Gates for the battle of Camden. Marion is not at the battle but was able to recapture 150 Maryland prisoners.

Marion Eludes Death

Nov 22, 1780

British sent militia to kill Marion, he and his troops get out of death by traveling over 26 miles through a swamp.

Marion leaves combat for State Assembly

Jan 24, 1782

Marion elected into a State Assembly in Jacksonborough. Left his brigade and they became very disheartened.

Marion marries cousin

Francis marries Mary Esther Videau who happened to be his cousin. Yuck.

Francis Marion dies

Francis Marion dies of natural causes. Possibly uncontrolable bladder issues.
