Forrest gets taken to a Black Panther meeting with Jenny. The Black Panthers were fighting racism. They were also fighting oppression against Black Americans. -

While sailing around with BubbaGump company, Hurricane Carmen hit Louisianna. During this time all other boats, besides the BubbaGump boat, got wiped from the shore. All the shrimp landed with Forrest and Dan, making them rich. -

Lt. Dan tells Forrest that they invested in a fruit company. They didn't realize that it was actually technology. But it didn't matter because the company took off. -
HIV outbreak
Jenny, who had done drugs, contracts a virius unknown to doctors. This marks the HIV/AIDS outbreak in the 80's. Jenny died after this.
