Challenge 1: Prepare Jamaican Jerk Chicken for Patrons
Jamaican Jerk Chicken is a huge CULTURAL TRAIT that is part of what makes Jamaican culture special. The jerk chicken is made from locally grown vegetables and spices which makes the ACCESIBILITY of it common to Jamaica. The contestants must learn the CUSTOMS of the Jamaican culture in order to cook the jerk correctly because in Jamaica they cook jerked chicken over a wood fire, which is proven to give
the meat a smoked hickory flavor. Total time for challenge is 4 hours. -

Go to Reggae Beach by taxi
Leave hotel at 9:00 am to go to Reggae Beach. At 11:00 am arrive at Reggae Beach. Stay until 2:00 pm and leave for the airport. Arrive at airport at 3:30 pm. -
Fly from Jamaica to Valencia, Spain
Take the Delta 718 flight from Jamaica to New York at 4:00 pm. Arrive in New York at 7:58 pm. Expect a 1 hour and 59 minute layover. Board the Delta 400 flight from New York to Paris at 9:57 pm. Arrive in Paris at 5:25 am (overnight flight). -
Eat Breakfast in Hotel
Wake up at 8:00 am and eat a Jamaican breakfast in the hotel. Be done by 9:00 am. -

Challenge 2: Cook and eat Paella at Restaurant El Forcat
Paella is a typical seafood dish that takes a major role in Spanish CULTURE. Whenever making Paella, it is TRADITION to cook it in a “paellera,” a large, flat pan with two handles. This very large dish is considered a TRANSCULTURATION because this meal includes the seafood and the paellera from Spain, and the Arabs brought the rice. The contestants must cook and eat the dish, which may be a hard task since it is served in the paellera and quite large. Total time for this challenge is 2 hours. -
Taxi from Valencia Airport to Ibis Hotel
Get into the taxi by 9:00 am and drive to the Ibis Hotel. Check in and drop off bags. Rest until 12:00 pm. -
Take taxi from Ibis Hotel to Restaurant El Forcat
Prepare for challenge. Leave the Ibis hotel at 12:00 pm and drive to Restaurant El Forcat. -
Take taxi from Restaurant El Forcat to Ibis Hotel
After the Paella challenge is complete, take a taxi back to the Ibis hotel. By the time the challenge is complete, it will be 12:40 pm-2:40 pm. The rest of the day is yours to explore the cultural oppurtunities in Spain. -

Board the Turkish Airlines 1302 fight at 10:00 am from Valencia to Istanbul. Land in Istanbul at 1:45 pm. Expect a 2 hour and 5 minute layover. Board the Turkish Airlines 784 at 3:50 pm from Istanbul to Tel Aviv. Land in Tel Aviv at 5:50 pm. -
Take taxi from airport to Bleecker Bakery
At 5:45 pm leave airport and arrive at Bleecker Bakery at 6:30 pm. Prepare for challenge. -
Challenge 3: braid Challah to the baker's liking
Challah bread is an extremely important CULTURAL TRAIT of the Jewish CULTURE, it is what the people tend to eat on every special holiday. Through CULTURAL DIFFUSION, the Jewish culture as well as Challah, has spread throughout, making the bread more mainstream. Even though you can get Challah anywhere, in order to get a true feeling of what is like to make, we must go back to the CULTURAL HEARTH, Israel. To learn to braid Challah correctly can take many years, the contestants have only 1 hour. -
Take taxi to the Norman Tel Aviv Hotel from Bleecker Bakery
After the challenge is complete at around 7:30 pm, head back to the Norman Tel Aviv hotel for the night. Dinner will be provided at the hotel. -
Wake up and have breakfast in the Norman Hotel
Wake up at 6:00 am. Eat breakfast in the hotel and be ready to be picked up by taxi at 7:00 am. -
Fly from Tel Aviv to Viti Levu, Fiji
Board the El Al 315 flight from Tel Aviv to London at 8:00 am. Land in London at 12:05 pm. Expect a 55 minute layover. Board the Air New Zealand 4011 at 1:00 pm to Viti Levu. Arrive in Viti Levu at 11:00 pm. All meals will be provided in the airports and planes. -
Take taxi from Norman Tel Aviv hotel to the airport
Leave the Norman Tel Aviv hotel at 7:00 am to arrive on time for the 8:00 am flight to Fiji. Check out of hotel. -

Challenge 4: Making Kokoda at the Tomlus Restaurant in Fiji (30 mintues)
Making Kokoda, basically a raw snapper salad, in Fiji is a very common piece of FOLK CULTURE because of the amount of snapper that are native to Fiji. The prep of the snapper will already be done for the contestants, so all they need to do is marinate the fish and serve it, the hardest part will be finding the Tomlus Restaurant. Tomlus is in the middle of a real Fijian village surrounded by TRADIONAL ARCITECTURE and the contestants cannot ask the people for directions because of the VERNACULAR. -

Fly from Viti Levu to Saskatoon, Canada
Board the Qantas Airways 3839 at 8;30 am. Arrive in Los Angeles at 6:15 pm (Lunch will be provided on plane). Expect a 25 minute layover. Board the West Jet 182 at 6:40 and land in Saskatoon at 11:00 pm. -

Immediately after challenge is completed at 7:30 am, take a tasxi to the Viti Levu airport. -
Take taxi from Saskatoon Airport to Country Inn and Suites
Take a taxi at 11:00 pm to Country Inn and Suites. Arrive at 11:10 pm and check in for the night. -
Take taxi from Country Inn and Suites to Nestor's Bakery
Wake up prior at 9:00 am and have breakfast. Check out of hotel at 11:45 am and be out front by 11:50 am to be picked up by taxi. Prepare for Challenge at Nestor's Bakery. -
Fly from Saskatoon to Miami
Board the United 6303 at 3:41 pm and land in Denver, Colorado at 6:13 pm. Expect a 1 hour 40 minute layover. Board the United 1079 at 7:53 pm. Land in Miami at 11:59 pm. -

Take Taxi from Nestor's Bakery to Saskatoon Airport
Leave Nestor's Bakery at 3:00 pm and go to Saskatoon Airport. Be at the airport by 3:20 pm for the 3:41 pm flight. -
Challenge 5: Collect Saskatoon berries & Bake a Saskatoon Pie
The final challenge will be to bake a Saskatoon berry pie in Saskatoon, Canada. Saskatoon berries are able to grow specifically in the Saskatoon REGION of Canada because of its LOCATION, the berries need a colder climate in order to grow and survive. Even though Saskatoon has a plentiful amount of the berries, you can see the impact on the CULTURAL LANDSCAPE because of how many berries are picked for the pie, you need 4 cups of berries for just one pie. Total time for this challenge is 2 hours.
