In Willmete,Illinois Pete Wentz and Joe Trohman assembled a pop punk side project from there respective hardcore bands and tried to form their own band. -
We need a Singer
Despite originally auditioning as the drummer for Fall Out Boy,Stump became the somewhat reluctant lead singer after his extensive vocal range and ability was discovered. Several lineup changes were to follow, after which he began also playing guitar for the band when a guitar player quit only days before the band's first tour. -
Got signed
The group got signed by Fueled By Ramen for a proper debut. -
"We need a beat"
After going through a succesion of drummers over the years and after the bands debut mini "Evening out with your Girlfriend" and recorded "Take this to your Grave" Andy Hurley Joined the band after. -
We need a name
After there first 2 shows they decided the audience should pick there name, So after reading a list to the audience a fan yelled out "F*** that, you're Fall out boy. Referencing the sidekick of Radioactive man from the Simpsons. -
From Under the Cork Tree
The bands second album recieved 2x platnium under the label of "Island' and sold over 2,700,000 in the US -
Infinity on High
Under the Label of "Island" and Sold over a Million Copies in the Us and in the UK they sold over 100,000 and peaked at number 9 on the US chart -
Folie a deux
They ranked number 8 in the Us chart and sold only 449,000 copies and recieved 2 golds and 1 platnium. -
We need a Break
In 2009, at what was arguably the height of the band's fame, Wilmette-born punk-pop band Fall Out Boy went on what its members termed an "indefinite hiatus." -

After there Hiatus,Fallout boy released "Save rock and Roll" which was released May 7.After they did a 6 week tour -

Under the label "Island" they ranked #1 in the US and sold 554,000 copies. They were then given 2 golds and 1 platinum. -
