USS Monitor
The Civil War ironclad USS Monitor was raised from the floor of the Atlantic off Cape Hatteras, NC, about 140 years after the warship sank during a storm. Two peoples remains and their uniforms were found in the ship. Everything was placed in the Arlington Museum. -

Hurricane Irene

In the United States, Occupy Wall Street movement began a protest meant to highlight income inequality in the United States and rest of the world. -
AGE 18
I started college at NC State University in the Elementary Education program. I was super excited and could not wait for the new experiences that I would experience. -
Charlotte Police Shooting
In Charlotte, North Carolina, a Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police officer fatally shot Keith Lamont Scott. Protests and riots erupted in Charlotte following the shooting. Presidential Election
In the United States, the 58th Presidential Election took place with candidates Hillary Clinton (Democratic Party) and Donald Trump (Republican Party). Trump won the election and sits as our 58th President. Side Note: this was the first election I voted in.
