The first lesson eddie learns is that there are no random acts in life, and that all incidents are intertwined in some way. -
2nd person eddie meets
the second person eddie meets is his Captain from the war he is meeting him because He explained that, although he shot Eddie, he kept his promise by not leaving him behind and even sacrificed his life so Eddie and two other soldiers were able to live. eddie was mad because the capitain mest up his leg but he forgived him. The lesson eddie learns is that when one loses something, they often gain something else. -
The 3rd person eddie meets
The third person Eddie meets in heaven is Ruby. Ruby is A woman for whom Ruby Pier is named by her fiance Emile. and the lesson that eddie learns from her is to let go of his anger and to forgive his father for the damage he caused in his life. -
the 4th person eddie meets
the fourth person eddie meets is wife and only true love. Marguerite was the only happiness in eddies life the lesson that eddies wife teaches eddie is that love is not lost with death. -
The 5th and last person eddie meets
The fifth person eddie meets is Tala was the little girl who Eddie saw crawling into the burning fort during the war. Although he lived most of his life in denial, he finds out in heaven that he did kill her in the fire. The lesson that she teached eddie is Eddie that his life did have a purpose which was to keep children safe at the pier. -
