    This was a WW2 military campaign in which the Royal Air Force and Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy successfully defended the UK against large-scale attacks by Nazi Germanys air force, Luftwaffe.
  • Operation Barbarossa

    Operation Barbarossa
    This was the European Axis's invasion of the Soviet Union. More than 4.5 million men attacked along the front. It was the largest military invasion in history. Germany was not successful. This led to more operations, which also failed.
  • Operation Torch

    Operation Torch
    This invasion of French North Africa by the U.S. and U.K., via Casablanca, Oran, and Algiers was successful for the Allied Powers of WWII. This allowed the Mediterranean Sea to free and clear of Axis powers and the Allies were free to use the waters.
  • Operation Overlord

    This is also called the Battle of Normandy. It was the Allied operation that launched the successful invasion of German controlled Western Europe during WW2. It was a long and costly campaign to free NW Europe from Nazis.
  • Yalta Conference

    This was a conference between three WWII allies: Roosevelt(U.S.), Churchill(Britain), and Stalin(Soviet Union). They met on Feb. 4, 1945, in the resort town of Yalta, to discuss the post-war fate of Germany and Europe.
