Video games have been around since 1958. The first video game, called ‘Tennis For Two,’ was created by American physicist and computer scientist William Higinbotham and played on an oscilloscope, or cathode ray tube (CRT). It would be years before people began referring to video games as ‘video games.’ In the early 1970s, coin-operated video game cabinets like Pong were all the rage, and home console systems like Atari, Intellivision, and ColecoVision started to become popular too.
