    This was the day that Thomas Jefferson became president. He beat John Adams, but he tied with Adam Burr. The congress had to vote on which person they would want more to be their president.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    This was the purchase made by the United States. We bought the Louisiana territory for $15 million. This largely increased the size of the United States.
  • Lewis and Clark Expidition

    Lewis and Clark Expidition
    This was the first American expedition in the on the Western side of the United States. They discovered many animals, plants, and different land forms with them was an Indian named Sacagawea. This ended September 23, 1806.
  • James Madison

    James Madison
    This was the day that James Madison became president. He was named "Father of the Constitution". Also while he was president he led the US into the War of 1812.

    War of 1812
    This war was when the US was made at Britain because they took our ships. They also drafted our sailors on those ships to their navy. This war ended with the treaty of Ghent.
  • James Monroe

    James Monroe
    He was a founding father who served as Americas 5th president. He made the US stronger by putting the Monroe Doctrine in 1823. He also fought in the Revolutionary War in 1775.
  • John Quincy Adams

    John Quincy Adams
    He was the first president, of a son of a president. He watched Bunker Hill from above his family farm. John Quincy Adams also served as part of the Senate for 6 years.
  • Andrew Jackson

    Andrew Jackson
    Andrew Jackson was elected for president by the popular vote. For the first time in US history none of the candidates won the majorities of Electoral votes. He served as an important general in the War of 1812.
  • Indian Removal Act

    Indian Removal Act
    This act removed all Indians from there home and was signed into law by president Andrew Jackson. Most of the tribes left peacefully while others put up a fight. This act was very unconstitutional and was later repealed.

    Arkansas was part of the land bought in the Louisiana Purchase. This is the first state to get out of the Union and join the United States. Many tribes used this state for hunting lands.
