In 1824, John Oxley created the Moreton Bay penal settlement. Then the Governor of new south wales moved The settlement to the site of Brisbane where Captain Patrick Logan took over from Lieutenant Henry Miller in march 1826. He brought discipline and vigour, making convicts’ plant food, build roads and buildings and soon the settlement strived under Logan’s cruelty. -

In the late 1700 and the early 1800 French ships were sailing around the continent and the British settlers were worried that they were going to claim Western Australia so they claimed it Just In case. And after a while people wanted to live there and created a proper settlement. -

South Australia The colony of south Australia was established in 1836. Unlike the other settlements South Australia had only free settlers at the time. After considering problems of the other settlements Edward Gibbon thought of a plan which involved ‘systematic colonization’ . settlers needed enough money to buy land and they need skills such as farming and trades with people of a certain age to raise families -

In July 1851.The same week that Victoria broke away from New South Wales, gold was discovered at Clunes. North west of Melbourne. Followed by other discoveries elsewhere. After 10 years there were hundreds of gold mines and thousands of miners arrived from all over the world and Victoria soon became the centre of industry.
