Introducing Dory and the Problem
Exposition 1: The movie starts out with a flashback to a young Dory with her parents. It shows her saying that she suffers from memory loss with is the problem in the story as she can't remember her parents. -
Dory Gets Lost
Exposition 2: After showing Dory with her parents it shows two fish who hear Dory calling out hello in a totally different place from before. They ask Dory if she knows where her parents are and she says she doesn't remember. They turn to talk to each other after finding out Dory has memory loss and when they turn back she's gone. This is in the exposition because it shows the problem within the move which is Dory can't remember where her parents are and tries to find them. -
Dory Meets Marlin
Exposition 3: After showing Dory continue to grow up asking people for help eventually forgetting what she was even looking for she runs into Marlin right after Nemo was taken and tells him that she saw and helps him find Nemo. This is part of the exposition because Marlin is a character in pretty much all the movie. -
Dory Remembers Something About Her Parents
Rising Action 1: After going on the filed trip with Nemo's class when hearing the word undertow it sounds familiar because her parents used to warn her to stay away from it. She then gets swept up by stingrays in the undertow and gets knocked out. When shes knock out she has a memory of her parents and mumbles the jewel of Norbay California which is where she grew up. -
Dory Remembers A Lot
Rising Action 2: When heading back to their home once Dory wakes up she's trying to remember what she remembered. Nemo then repeats what she said when she was past out "The jewel of Norbay California" Dory gets flashbacks of her parents and remembers all about them. -
Dory Decides To Find Her Parents
Rising Action 3: After remembering her parents Dory decides to go and find them. At first Marlin tells her no but after Dory says she misses them Marlin agrees because he missed Nemo when he went missing. They then head out and start there journey across the ocean. -
Jenny and Charlie
Rising Action 4: After traveling to Norbay California by turtle Dory, Marlin, and Nemo are left in a strange place. However, the place feels familar to Dory after the crabs hiding shush her. She then has a flashback to when she first got lost as a kid and was shushed by crabs in the same place. In the flashback she is asking them if they have seen her parents and that their names are Jenny and Charlie. -
Dory Gets Taken
Rising Action 5: Dory tries to get help for Nemo after see that Marlin is asking him if he is ok because he almost got eaten by a squid, which Dory forgot about, she goes looking for help. She hears a voice so she goes to the top looking for whoever the voice was. A few seconds later Marlin and Nemo submerge from the water and see Dory. Dory is then taken by two people that say she had plastic on her. -
Hank
Rising Action 6: While in a fish tank in quarantine Dory meets Hank. Hank promises to get Dory to her family in exchange for her orange tag. The orange tag is a transfer tag to Cleveland. -
Destiny
Rising Action 7: After jumping into a bucket labeled Destiny and then thrown into an exhibit, Dory meets her old pipe pal Destiny. Destiny tells Dory that she's from the Open Ocean exhibit -
Kid Zone
Rising Action 8: Dory and Hank get stuck in the Kid Zone after trying to get the the Open Ocean exhibit by stroller, but they take a wrong turn and roll into the kids zone and land in the touch pool. Hank thinks they're stuck there forever but Dory leads them to the side of the pool where the kids poke. Hank is poked and lets out ink on accident, but him doing that gets them out of the pool and free. -
The Pipes
Rising Action 9: Dory makes it to the Open Ocean exhibit and finds her home, but her parents aren't there. Then two little crabs tell her that all the blue fish are getting there own exhibit in Cleveland and are in quarantine, the place she started out at. Dory then goes through the pipes trying to get to quarantine. She calls out to Destiny for help when she gets lost, and Destiny has Bailey use echo location to help her. While in the pipes Dory runs into Marlin and Nemo. -
Gone
Climax: Dory, Marlin, and Nemo make it to quarantine and into the tank with all the other blue fish. However, when she asks them about her parents they tell her that they thought Dory had ended up in quarantine and went after her, and never came back. They then tell Dory that the fish that don't come back from quarantine are gone. So Dory and everyone else think her parents are dead. -
Lost and Found
Climax: Dory gets separated from Marlin and Nemo after hank tries to get them out of the tank and slides into the sewers. She's then in the ocean again looking for them but forgetting who. While looking around Dory finds a trail of shells and follows them. It leads her to a place that has lines of shells branching out in every direction. While looking around two fish swim towards her holding a bunch of shells. They all freeze in surprise. Dory found her parents. -
Cuddle Party
Falling Action 1: After calling for Destiny and Bailey, and them jumping into the ocean with Dory and her parents, she comes up with a plan to get Marlin and Nemo. She tells Destiny to fling her onto the road with some otters in order to stop the truck that has Marlin and Nemo on it. -
Driving
Falling Action 2: After getting locked in the truck while getting Nemo and Marlin out, Dory and Hank take over the truck. Hank drives the truck while Dory tells him where to go. They start to drive back to the ocean when the cops show up and barricade the way, but they just drive off the cliff and into the ocean freeing all the fish in the truck. -
Happy Ending
Resolution: Dory and all of her friends are shown back home enjoying themselves, all of them together and happy.
