Creation of Praxinoscope
Charles-Emile Reynaud creates the Praxinoscope. He improves an idea of the Zoetrope by putting mirrors in the middle of the drum. He used this idea of the Praxinoscope to create a machine called "Theatre Optique" which could hold longer animated strips. -

Photographic Dry Plates Mass Produce
George Eastman creates a machine that uses Emulsion-coating. This enables mass production of photographic dry plates. These plates are used like photo paper is today. This meant more dry plates could be used and longer films could be made. -
Eastman Dry Plate Company
George Eastman starts a dry plate manufacturing company. He also begins to experiment with new types of film. He sells a large amount of products to the industry. -
Photo Rifle
Etienne-Jules Marey creates a new type a camera. The Chronophotographic Gun. Shaped like a gun, it can take 12 pictures per second. -
Sound
Thomas Edison meets with Eadweard Muybridge to discuss putting sound in films. This would revolutionize the way films were made. It would also mean big bucks for Edison. -
Kinetoscope
An employee of Thomas Edison creates the Kinetoscope. The invention is more of an innovation based off of George Eastman, Muybridge, and Marey. He later gets it patented. -
Name Change
George Eastman renames his company. Now the Eastman Kodak company. The name will become a staple in the film and photography community. -

Edison builds a studio near his lab. His employees name it. Black Maria. -

Kinetoscope Parlors become a hit. Now in major cities many people use them. They use them one at a time though. -
Vitascope
The Vitascope is invented. Basically a movie projector for a mass audience. Manufacturing is done with Thomas Edison as a partner. -
Disaster
125 people die. A projector using a fuel lamp catches fire to the theatre. A bad image on the industry. -
Feature Film
The first Feature films are created. They're hits. Many people go to see them.
