    By the 2000s, computer animation started to take over traditional animation. Many studios became known and widely popular due to the medium. Traditional animated films are still made but rarely.

    The 2010's saw many very successful movie releases being in the genre of superheroes. Marvel's Avengers movies have been the highest grossing for each year they come out. Avengers Endgame was the highest-grossing movie of all time at one point.
